SnRNP stands for small nuclear ribonucleoprotein. These are complex molecules composed of small nuclear RNA (snRNA) and aset of proteins. SnRNPs are essential components of the spliceosome, which is the molecular machinery responsible for the splicing of pre-mRNA.
