<Algae> is a broad name for several photosynthetic <eukaryotic> groups, rather than one exclusive <clade>. The older name blue-green algae for <cyanobacteria> is misleading in a comparison of cellular organization: <cyanobacteria> are <bacteria>, with neither <chloroplasts> nor a <cell nucleus>.
