An alpha-Omega <mean-field dynamo> couples toroidal-field generation by the <Omega effect> to poloidal-field regeneration by the <alpha effect>. A simple Fourier model is $\dot A=\alpha_0 f(t)B-\eta k^2A$, $\dot B=ik\Omega A-\eta k^2B$, where $A$ is a component of the <vector potential> for the poloidal field and $B$ is a toroidal-field amplitude. For bounded $|f|\leq1$, the <bounded-modulation alpha-Omega growth estimate> controls the maximum amplification.
