The <anaphase-promoting complex> is a regulated <ubiquitin ligase> that uses regulatory cofactors to target selected <cell cycle> <proteins> for destruction. Degradation of mitotic cyclins helps reset kinase activity during exit, while other substrates coordinate <chromosome> separation.
