= Angular speed

Angular speed is the nonnegative magnitude of <angular velocity>: $\omega=|\boldsymbol\omega|$. It measures the rate of rotation about an instantaneous axis without specifying its direction. For uniform <circular motion> of radius $R$, the ordinary <speed> is $v=R\omega$.
