A controlled test of a breakdown model would specify the gas, <pressure>, electrode shape and separation, then measure the <electric potential difference> at discharge onset. Altering electrode curvature while holding the gap width fixed isolates a geometric change that a planar approximation suppresses. Surface condition and the criterion used to identify onset must also be recorded. Consistent measurement definitions make datasets from different apparatus comparable.
