Condensed <water> falling from <clouds> or deposited from the atmosphere as liquid or solid particles. It can efficiently scavenge soluble gases and <aerosol> particles. Gas conversion into <sulfate> and subsequent <atmospheric precipitation> removal are separate stages of an atmospheric sulfur budget.
