{title2=$\ell_B$}
{wiki}
For a chosen reference charge $q$, the separation at which its Coulomb interaction energy equals $k_BT$. The charge-$q$ convention is $\ell_B=q^2/(4\pi\epsilon_{\rm abs}k_BT)$ in SI, or $\ell_B=\beta q^2/\epsilon$ in <Gaussian units>. The commonly tabulated value uses the elementary charge; changing <counterion> valence requires tracking that reference convention. It sets the strength of <counterion condensation>.
