The <Boolean function> obtained by assigning a fixed <Boolean> value $b$ to a chosen <Boolean variable> $x$ in $f$. The original <Boolean function> satisfies $f=(\neg x\land f\vert_{x=0})\lor(x\land f\vert_{x=1})$.
