For a weak potential $u=\epsilon q$, the first <Born approximation> in the KdV Schrödinger convention is
$$
R(k)=\frac{\epsilon}{2ik}\int_{\mathbb R}e^{-2ikx}q(x)\,dx+O(\epsilon^2).
$$
