Canonical transformation
= Canonical transformation
{wiki}
A canonical transformation preserves the symplectic form and hence all Poisson brackets. In one degree of freedom, an invertible map $(q,p)\mapsto(Q,P)$ is canonical exactly when $\{Q,P\}_{q,p}=1$.
