<Charge quantization> is the restriction of <electric charges> to discrete multiples of a basic unit. In the Standard Model, Yukawa <gauge invariance> and gauge-anomaly cancellation relate the quark and lepton hypercharges and imply that the <proton> and <electron> have opposite charges.
