Confined-sphere drag coefficient
= Confined-sphere drag coefficient
{title2=$\zeta_{\rm tube}$}
For a sphere of radius $R$ moving through a membrane tube with a uniform narrow gap $\delta\ll R$, <lubrication theory> gives
$$
\zeta_{\rm tube}\simeq\frac{12\pi\mu R^3}{\delta^2}.
$$
It exceeds the unbounded-fluid <Stokes drag law> coefficient by $2R^2/\delta^2$.
