A correlogram plots the estimated <autocorrelation function> against lag. The plot helps distinguish the finite <autocorrelation> cutoff of a <moving-average model> from the decaying dependence of a causal <autoregressive model>. Estimated cutoffs are diagnostics, not exact finite-sample identities.
