Cosmological shear
= Cosmological shear
The traceless symmetric part of the galaxy velocity-gradient <matrix> changes shape without isotropic expansion. An antisymmetric part instead represents rigid rotation. A <matrix> proportional to the identity plus an antisymmetric <matrix> has no shear.
