Covalent catalysis
= Covalent catalysis
<Covalent catalysis> creates a temporary covalent bond between catalyst and <substrate>, then breaks that bond while regenerating the catalyst. Merely forming a <substrate>–<water> bond does not constitute <covalent catalysis> by an <enzyme> residue.
