= Cross multiplication

For nonzero denominators, $a/b=c/d$ exactly when $ad=bc$. For positive denominators, $a/b<c/d$ exactly when $ad<bc$. This compares <fractions> with exact <integer arithmetic>, avoiding rounding from <floating-point arithmetic>.
