= Curvature of a plane curve

For a regular plane curve $(x(u),y(u))$,
$$
\kappa(u)=\frac{|x'(u)y''(u)-y'(u)x''(u)|}{(x'(u)^2+y'(u)^2)^{3/2}}.
$$
For a graph $(u,f(u))$, this reduces to $|f''(u)|/(1+f'(u)^2)^{3/2}$.
