= Cycle notation
A <cycle> $(a_1\,a_2\,\ldots\,a_k)$ sends $a_1$ to $a_2$, continuing cyclically back from $a_k$ to $a_1$, and fixes elements outside its support. Products conventionally act from right to left. Every <permutation> is a product of disjoint <cycles>, unique up to their ordering and cyclic rotation of each displayed list.
