A <Dalitz decay> replaces a radiated real <photon> with a virtual <photon> converting to a charged-lepton pair. The neutral-<pion> example is $\pi^0\to\gamma e^+e^-$. <Double Dalitz decay> converts both virtual photons in the two-photon mode.
