An underground NaI(Tl) <particle scintillation> experiment seeking annual variation in low-energy single-hit rates. Its reported modulation is an observable; mapping it to a <WIMP> <mass> and <cross section> requires assumptions about the interaction, halo distribution and detector recoil response.
