A <SQUID> with two <Josephson junctions> in a superconducting loop. For equal junctions, negligible self-inductance and no intrinsic phase offset, adding their sinusoidal currents gives the displayed flux-dependent critical current. An rf SQUID instead has one junction and uses loop inductance.
