For a prime $\mathcal P$ of a finite Galois extension $L/K$ above $\mathfrak p$, the decomposition group is the stabilizer
$$
G_{\mathcal P/\mathfrak p}
=\{\sigma\in\operatorname{Gal}(L/K):\sigma\mathcal P=\mathcal P\}.
$$
