All four interacting waves have the same <frequency>. Counterpropagating equal-frequency pumps can give a source proportional to the conjugate signal field, providing <phase conjugation>. The pump product must have the appropriate uniform spatial phase, and finite <apertures> and <phase mismatch> limit reconstruction.
