For a pure $k$-dimensional projective scheme $X\subseteq {\mathbb{P}}^m$, its degree is $k!$ times the leading coefficient of its Hilbert polynomial, equivalently ${\int }_X{H}^k$.

This extends degree of an algebraic variety to retain scheme multiplicities.
