The dynamic structure factor is the space-time <Fourier transform> of an equilibrium <two-point correlation function>. It resolves fluctuations by <angular frequency> and <wavevector> and is related to the dissipative part of a <retarded Green function> by the <Fluctuation-dissipation theorem>.
