The warm phase of the coupled tropical Pacific <El Niño–Southern Oscillation>, with central and eastern equatorial Pacific surface warming and a weakened <Walker circulation>. Changes of <trade winds>, <thermocline> depth, and <equatorial Kelvin waves> and <equatorial Rossby waves> participate in its evolution.
