The fermion electric dipole moment operator couples a fermion pseudotensor bilinear to the <electromagnetic field tensor>. Its nonrelativistic interaction is proportional to $\mathbf S\cdot\mathbf E$, so it is odd under parity and time reversal and signals CP violation.
