<Finasteride> is an unsaturated 4-azasteroid inhibitor of steroid <5α-reductase>. Enzyme-generated reduction and <enolate> capture of oxidized cofactor give a covalent cofactor–inhibitor adduct; the protein itself need not be covalently modified.
