A principal connection is flat when its <curvature of a principal connection>[curvature] vanishes. The identity $\mathcal F(X,Y)=-\mathcal A([X,Y])$ shows that this is equivalent to integrability of its <horizontal distribution of a principal connection>[horizontal distribution].
