= Fourier frequency

$\lambda_j=2\pi j/T$ is a frequency of the length-$T$ <discrete Fourier transform>. Distinct interior frequencies give orthogonal sine and cosine vectors; for a Gaussian <white noise> record this makes the corresponding Fourier components independent.
