Material deposited directly by ice or by associated meltwater. Its <sedimentary facies>, transport directions and age constrain a former glacial <paleoenvironment>. Correlating such deposits across continents can test <continental reconstruction>, but requires distinguishing the original depositional record from later transport and deformation.
