= Graph drawing
A <graph drawing> represents <vertices> by distinct points in the <Euclidean plane> and <edges> by curves joining their endpoints. A crossing of <edges> is not an extra <vertex> unless we explicitly change the <graph> to make it one. Curves may bend: the <graph> records connections, not coordinates.
