A <heat exchanger> transfers <heat> between a <fluid> and another <fluid> or its surroundings. In <measuring the Joule-Thomson effect with a porous plug>, an upstream coil restores the inlet <temperature> before the measurement throttle; it belongs outside the approximately insulated measurement <control volume>.
