A Herschel–Bulkley fluid is unyielded for $|\tau|\leq\tau_y$ and obeys $\tau=\operatorname{sgn}(\dot\gamma)(\tau_y+K|\dot\gamma|^n)$ after yield. The parameters $K$ and $n$ are its consistency and power-law index.
