Heterozygote
= Heterozygote
A heterozygote carries different <alleles> at a diploid locus. Under ordinary Mendelian segregation each is transmitted to an offspring with probability $1/2$. Only heterozygous parents provide a comparison between alternative transmissions in the <transmission disequilibrium test>.
