On an oriented Riemannian $n$-manifold, the Hodge star is determined by
$$
\alpha\wedge *\beta=\langle\alpha,\beta\rangle\,\omega_g.
$$
It maps $p$-forms to $(n-p)$-forms and satisfies $*^2=(-1)^{p(n-p)}$ on $p$-forms.
