Homolysis
= Homolysis
<Homolysis> splits a <covalent bond> with one bonding <Electron> assigned to each fragment. A neutral closed-shell <molecule> thereby produces fragments with unpaired <Electrons>, each a <radical (chemistry)>. The usual <bond-dissociation enthalpy> uses this product convention.
