<Hydrogen-bond catalysis> preferentially stabilizes a reactive configuration through <hydrogen bonds>. A <hydrogen bond> to an intermediate or bound <substrate> is evidence of an interaction, but its catalytic contribution depends on differential stabilization relative to the starting state.
