For a three-<uniform hypergraph>, the link of a vertex $v$ is the ordinary <graph> on the remaining vertices in which $xy$ is an edge precisely when $vxy$ is a <hyperedge>. Its edge count is the <hypergraph vertex degree> of $v$.
