The lower and upper integration limits $a,b$ specify the ordered endpoints of a <definite integral> $\int_a^b f(x)\,dx$. Interchanging the <integration limits> reverses its sign: $\int_b^a f(x)\,dx=-\int_a^b f(x)\,dx$.
