Irreducible root system (source code)

= Irreducible root system

A <root system> spanning a real <inner product space> is irreducible when it cannot be partitioned into two nonempty mutually <orthogonal> <root systems>. Its <Dynkin diagram> is connected. This condition concerns the roots themselves, rather than an arbitrary ambient space larger than their span.
