<Kenneth Pitzer> modeled the <thermodynamics> of <electrolyte> solutions beyond the simplest dilute limit. His treatment modifies short-range binary-interaction terms to depend on <ionic strength>, combining physical guidance from the <Debye–Hückel approximation> with a compact representation of measured solution properties. The resulting equations accommodate both individual electrolytes and mixtures at substantially higher concentrations than a simple limiting law. This links molecular interactions with reusable predictions of nonideal solution behavior.<Thermodynamics of Electrolytes. I.
