Lunar material enriched in potassium, rare-earth elements and phosphorus, together with other incompatible elements. It is associated with evolved residual liquids from lunar differentiation; accompanying uranium and thorium provide <radiogenic heating>. <KREEP> is a geochemical designation, not itself a synonym for all mare <basalt> or for a unique physical crustal layer.
