Lateral atomic manipulation
= Lateral atomic manipulation
Moving a surface adsorbate between lateral positions by coupling it to a nearby scanning-probe tip and moving the tip parallel to the surface. Pulling, pushing and sliding depend on the competing tip–adsorbate and substrate interactions.
