A <molecule> with a high <relative molecular mass>, typically built from many smaller units joined by <covalent bonds>. <Proteins> and <nucleic acids> are examples. In <dialysis>, a <semipermeable membrane> can retain these large <molecules> while smaller <solutes> diffuse through.
