Magnetic flux surface
= Magnetic flux surface
A surface everywhere tangent to the <magnetic field>. Nested toroidal flux surfaces provide a useful approximate organization of <tokamak> confinement: ideal guiding motion follows the field rather than directly crossing the surfaces. Finite orbit width, collisions and fluctuating fields can still produce transport across them.
