Magnetic moment of an orbit
= Magnetic moment of an orbit
{title2=$\mu_{\rm orbit}=m v_\perp^2/(2B)$}
For slow variation of the field compared with the gyration period, the <magnetic moment> $m v_\perp^2/(2B)$ is approximately conserved. Thus transverse random <energy> scales with $B$, and remains unchanged only when the relevant field strength is unchanged.
