Magnetized electron cooling
= Magnetized electron cooling
Strong longitudinal magnetic guidance can average rapid <electron> gyro-motion during relevant ion-electron interactions. The effective <ion> equilibrium scale can then be much lower than the transverse <electron> gyro-temperature, subject to gyroradius, collision-scale and beam-quality limits.
