After neglecting the decaying mode, the linear growth between conformal times $\tau_1$ and $\tau_2$ is
$$
D(\tau_2,\tau_1)=\frac{a(\tau_2)}{a(\tau_1)}
=\left(\frac{\tau_2}{\tau_1}\right)^2.
$$
